WACKER POLYSILICON is the global leader in the production of polycrystalline hyperpure silicon for the semiconductor and solar solar industries. At our Charleston site, we are currently looking for a Training and Development Manager to join our growing team.


Job Responsibilities

The Training and Development Manager is an experienced HR professional and engaged business partner focused on driving alignment, execution, and effectiveness of the training and development requirements for the site. This position will be directly responsible for a variety of HR and Training & Development activities. The position will ensure the site's training programs meet the regulatory, compliance and corporate requirements, as well as partner with the COE to drive regional development strategies and activities. This the position will assist the site in driving a high-performance organization and maintaining/enhancing the organization's training and development functions by planning, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and practices. The position will support the entire site and provide hands-on guidance and effort in executing Wacker's people strategy in alignment with business objectives. The successful person in this position will be a proactive contributor and problem solver, and demonstrate personal leadership towards achieving our company vision, mission, and objectives.

Essential Functions of this Position

Partner with the site and regional HR colleagues, site department leaders and training coordinators to align and manage a comprehensive Training and Development strategy and activities for the site

Manages all site Human Resource Training and Development related activities, including:

    • Site-level oversight of the learning management system, including content development, profile and course assignments, and system administration and maintenance
    • Prepare and deliver training and development programs to various levels of the organization
    • Oversight for new team member orientation and onboarding programs
    • In conjunction with regional Talent Development, assist with developing and facilitating various Leadership and supervisory training and development programs
    • Participates in the site training coordinator committee
    • Maintains related KPI's and Metrics, periodic reports and summaries
    • Ensure compliance with Team Members qualification programs
    • Facilitate various trainings and workshops to meet specific needs of departments and individuals in the organization
    • Maintaining training and development programs to ensure alignment to the needs of the business's compliance and recordkeeping requirements
    • Coordinates with external vendors/resources as needed

Manage or participate in various related HR activities, including:

    • Team member development planning
    • Audit support
    • Provide counsel to leaders and individuals using a systematic approach to understanding, approaching, and problems solving
    • Various team relations activities
    • Partner with the regional development COE to prepare and deliver various training and development programs

All other duties as required, including but not limited to leadership and team roles for projects, community relations, site communications, etc.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training , Learning and Development or a related field is required, Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification is preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with developing and delivering training programs
  • Requires experience developing training and development content and e-content in an industrial environment
  • Experience in leading and developing others, including teams of people
  • Prove track record of hands-on training design and implementation
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Excel and Word applications required, SAP HR preferred
  • Requires experience developing training and development content and e-content in an industrial environment
  • Ability to travel 10%.
